Rooney relief for Fabio

fabio Capello is pleased to see Wayne Rooney back among the goals, putting the distractions of the recent past behind him.

The England coach was at Old Trafford on Tuesday to see the Manchester United striker score twice in a 3-1 victory over Aston Villa.

Those efforts were Rooney's first from open play since a fateful European night against Bayern Munich on 31st March.

It was in that game that the striker saw a prolific season disrupted by an ankle injury which would nag him throughout the summer and seriously impact on his performances at the 2010 World Cup.

Since then he has struggled with other niggling knocks and become embroiled in a transfer saga which at one stage threatened to see him leave United
